A Data Steward should possess strong knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and relevant regulatory requirements such as GDPR (AVG). They need skills in data analysis, metadata management, and the ability to use data management tools and technologies. Competence in stakeholder communication and collaboration is essential, as they facilitate discussions between technical and business teams. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities are crucial for addressing data quality issues and improving data processes. Typically, a bachelor's degree in information management, computer science, or a related field is desired, along with experience in data management or governance roles.
